I loved many books as a kid. The Chronicles of Narnia comes to mind. I remember my fourth grade teacher reading the Lion the Witch and The Wardrobe outloud to us in class. I absolutely fell in love with it and had to go out and buy the whole series of books. C.S. Lewis has remained a favorite of mine. Other favorites would include the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. (I used to imagine I could grow up to be Laura Ingalls Wilder!) And I loved the Mrs. Piggle Wiggle books. Particularly the story about Patsy who didn't like taking baths. My name is 'atsy and I 'on't take an 'ath. (I believe the 'cure' was planting some kinds of seeds in her while she was asleep.) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also comes to mind as a favorite.

As a kid, I thought all of those Nancy Drew mysteries were the BEST!!

As for a 'memory' of reading a book as a kid, I guess it has to be "Alice in Wonderland", Prob'y--you know--very well written, and a I was a very imaginative child.

OH! IA AGREE WITH SUNFLOWER!! The Hobbit was awesome--the whole series, although I was a little older.

There were many books but my top books were How To Eat Fried Worms, Super Fudge, Tales of The Fourth Grade Nothing, and all of the books where you got to choose your own "destiny"....you know....like "if you want to go through the door turn to page 88, to turn around and walk back down the hallway turn to page 17". Those were the days.

The hobbit. I had never read a book before that wasn't a childs story. Once I read this book (when I was about 11) I discovered the true joy of reading and have never stopped. :-)
