ive heard that he died and i havent heard from him in so long we used to be best friends and im really curious

Go to rootsweb ( free site ) ; tab down to the SSMDI ( social security master death index ) . Click and enter the name . If the death was recent , it won't be listed right away .

The Social Security Death Index is useful and btw, it listed a relative today of mine who died about 90 days ago.

That said, if you know the city where the person is, check the newspaper obituaries in that city or region. There are also obiturary checkers that will serach across a bunch of newspapers.

Social Security Death Index. Although depending on when the person died, it may not be on there yet. My brother died many years ago, and he still isn't listed on there.

most states have a website where you can look into past obituataries. start there.
