Actually there are 1024MB per 1GB because of the standard base 10 calculation used in the industry conversions make minor changes in number. For instance your hard drive will say 80GB but because of the actual binary conversion done by your computer it will actually only represent a lesser amount such as 75 give or take. They're pretty much the same thing... just different ways of saying the same amount.

However, 1 GB = 1024 MB

Technically, 1 GB is really 1024 MB. They are the same thing. Not sure where you heard 1025 MB.
