Looks like 36, including the tail. I do know that giraffes have the same number of bones in their necks as humans (8), they're just longer.

A spinal cord has no bones, and that would include a giraffe's spinal cord.

A spinal cord is basically a bundle of nerves running through holes in the vertebra that make up the spine and neck of animals classified as vertebrates.

just a correction on the NECK bones issue:

"Most mammals have only seven neck bones (cervical vertebrate), but there are exceptions to this rule. The manatee and the two-toed sloth have only SIX cervical vertebrae and the three-toed sloth has NINE cervical vertebrae."
