My mom wouldnt let me shave my legs when I wanted to (I was 13 when I asked) and all the boys would tease me for wearing pants all the time (I wouldnt wear anything else so they wouldnt see my hair) and then one day I was fed up and I shaved them without her knowing. I was almost 15(!!!) before she came up to me and said I could finally shave my legs!! Ha!
But as for me, I have a son, so I havent thought about it yet, but if and when I do have a girl, it will probably be whenever she has underarm hair ( I am not trying to be gross), and I will let her start shaving both at the same time. OR whenever she gets her period. I think once they get their period, they should definitely be allowed to shave.

I think it will be perfectly fine to allow her to shave her legs. Young girls tend to have PLENTY of self-esteem issues. If her leg hair embarrasses her, well then allow her to shave it. It may seem like something "minor" to us, but a big deal to her. Sometimes other girls may tease and make fun of her leg hair.
You just have to think, it's only leg hair. Pretty much every women in the world shaves it or waxes, or whatever. It's not like it's a tattoo, or piercing. That would be an entirely DIFFERENT story. But shaving well, it's natural. Try not to be so uptight. It's not going to hurt her. Let her go ahead. If it makes her feel better, than that's what you need to worry about!!!!

i began shaving my legs at the same time as i replaced into 13. round that age once you're dealing with puberty and also you initiate growing to be truly some hair everywhere, you would possibly want to initiate shaving. the first time I shaved, no hair grew decrease back after a month. i imagine you ought to shave whenever you sense like you want to. :]

The fact that she wants to shave her legs is probably a sign that she's old enough to. When I first wanted to shave my mom showed me how thick her leg hair was because she had been shaving all her life. Then she told me that waxing was a good alternative and bought me wax strips and actually booked a couple waxing appointments for me so I could try it out. Make her try waxing first for her own benefit, but if she really doesn't like it, then just let her shave. It's her own legs.

How old is she? I think it depends on how much hair she has on her legs and the color of it. But, in general...I would say 10 years old. My mother didn't let me shave until I was about 12 and I was soooo embarrassed. In my opinion, there is no need in making a child be uncomfortable about their body, just to prolong something like leg shaving. It doesn't really matter that she shaves. It is going to happen anyway, why not let her do it now.

Tell your daughter not to shave the hair on her leg, it doesn't stop it from growing back and more. She should feel good about herself and the way God has created her. I don't shave mine, though it's not that much and I have a good self-image of myself. She should she was created like that for a reason and should be proud of herself, irrespective of what people think about her.

Firstly i'd check she's not under any peer pressure. all my friends started shaving their legs and i got the mickey taken out of me for not doing it, and i'm very pale skinned and dark haired so it showed up. once i was finally allowed i tried all sorts, electric razors, disposables, lady shaves etc but i've found nothing better than waxing and shaving away any extras later. if she wants to tell her its better to wax, you can buy disposable waxing strips now which are easy to use. tell her it does sting but she'll get less hairs and slower regrowth. its better in the long run and no risk of her cutting herself!
Incidentally you don't say how old your daughter is! i think i was about 12 when i started doing mine. man i wish i'd waxed!
