I'm American and I don't know why we chose Kerry. There were 2 other VERY good candidates. I'd have voted for Edwards for sure....or Dean. And honestly, I think Kerry would have made a good president. Kerry would have been a good candidate, and probably would have won had he defended himself from all the attacks but he made a choice to take the high road and not stoop to character bashing....he stuck with that choice and look where it got him. But....you gotta be able to look yourself in the mirror in the morning right? So if it was what he felt he had to do...then that's what he had to do - but I doubt he'll do it again if he runs in 08!

As for why Gore didn't run in 04, he has said that he felt another Bush v. Gore would be too divisive for the country, and it would be brutal and expensive.

He's kind of dull, but what does that have to do with being president? I think he'd be a good choice.

Who knows, maybe he'll try again in 08.

and Salebuci...or whatever - Gore did not lose big time. He won the popular vote and would have had the election if one SC judge would have voted the other way. THAT is hardly a "bigtime" loss.

Al Gore grew a beard and hid in a woodchuck hole after he lost the 2000 election. It sorta sent they boy off on a tangent. The Democrankie Party retaliated by nominating a Northern Liberal who has a history of marrying rich widows. Don't forget that Kerry nominated himself for three Purple Heart medals that he really didn't earn in order to bug out on the brave men he served with, and then came back to the USa and immediately began making up these atrocious stories about those who were braver than he to make himself applead to the loony lefties. The Viet Nam Veterans who served honorably would spit on this bozo if they had a chance and the Swift Boat Vets came out in full force to let America know what a scumbag Kerry really is. You'd think that, if the guy had a lick of decency, he'd resign from the Senate and go out in a field somewhere and blow his brains out (might take him a few shots being that small of a target) but he wouldn't because he has no sense of shame. He's lower than whale droppings, and they're on the bottom of the ocean.

IMO, most Dems thought Kerry had "More personality" than Gore (???!) and a quality similar to JFK. Personally, I think it was a bad idea, though I like most of Kerry's policies/ideas. Southerners in this country are notoriously prejudiced toward Northerners, esp. liberals...and Kerry was certainly that! You need a Southerner to win.
Gore DID win in 2000--the "Vast Right-WIng Conspiracy" described by Hillary Clinton, during the Lewinsky "scandal" stole it from him. Hundreds of thousands of votes were thrown out and many that would have put GORE In the White House were discounted. Do the math!

I think Al Gore was going through his creepy lumberjack phase, and it scared the Democratic party away from him.

He will make a run again in the future.

this could make sense if the two of those 2 men have even a delicate possibility of thrashing her for the nomination. yet they dont. it possibly the two her or obama will win it and then those men will ought to ask themselves in the event that they must be her vice chairman. Hillary, whether you like her or no longer she a lots larger profile than the two of those 2 men. gore couldnt win lower back interior the day and he cant win now. edwards is a astounding challenger yet possibly cant actual the famous individual skill of hillary of obama. so your question is moot.

He lost big time in the 2000 elections. He was very devasted and The Democratic party wanted a new, fresh blood to take on the George Bush.

al gore didnt run for office. he didnt want to try and compete again with george bush, since he was cheated out of it last time. also, usually whoever is president just gets voted back in, so it is harder to win that election. hopefully gore will run again once george w's term is over.

I'm pretty sure that he chose not to run, which is unfortunate. But don't blame me, I voted for Kerry.

Because they didn't think he could win.
Kerry is a really intelligent guy, but apparently, most americans are dumb and choose the person they felt smarter than (bush).
