Your car may be running hot. The fan will normally stay on for a little while after killing it cool the car down. Check your thermostat to see if it is working correctly. Also, if you bought it used, someone may have wired it direct because they were having problems with it running hot or with the fan not coming on at all.

You have a bad fan temperature sensor. The temperature sensor will leave the fan off until the temp rises to a specified speed. At that point it will turn on to pull air thru the radiator. When the temp drops below a specified amount, the sensor will turn the fan off.

When you stop and turn the engine off, the fan will continue to run until the temperature drops down to the fan cut off temp. In your case the fan sensor is stuck on and never opens to turn the fan off.

If you are unplugging the fan to stop it......you best be careful since the plug is close to the fan blades. You can change the sensor if you can find it. Good luck. Pops

You have a bad Temp relay switch. The switch operates based on the coolant temp of the car and turns on when the coolant reaches a certain temp. Your switch is stuck in the on position. Keep in mins alot of cars fans will still run nowdays even if the key is off until the collant temp dips below the switches temp threshold also.

ok,hook up a toggle switck between your fan and battery,so when you shut off your car,hit the toggle switch to shut off the fan, this should work, just make sure you turn it on before you drive, and also you can run the fan to a fuse and when you start up your car the fan starts to run and it stopps when you shut off your car.
