Do you mean career politicians, yet I don't consider most to be leaders. A leader who volunteers to serve the public can learn a lot.

It depends on the leaders. Good, patriotic leaders benefit by the copious goodwill and fame they enjoy from the populace. To them, this is the best form of benefit derivable from leadership. The material benefits in terms of fat income, expensive lifestyle and patronage is not important to them. However, bad leaders benefit by sitting on the populace through selfish laws, corruption, stupendous wealth, power, patronage, negative fame, etc.

If you mean in political terms,
well they benefit by getting paid more abviously,
and they just like the media and the fuss,
and they're life is just to serve as just big gears For society.

if the leader is from India, he definitely benefits from society. i would rather say that he is benfitted because he is politically enabled to loot the society
