Right click on one the files you want to play. On the menu, choose select "open with", and at the bottom of the drop down, select "choose program" You will see a list of players. Select the one you want and also check the box that states " Always use this program for this type of files". All file will change to play as the default one you want.

Say you want mp3 files to open with WMP:
Go to any mp3 file and right-click on it
Select "Open with..." from the menu
Browse to WMP and highlight it
Check the box at the bottom of the window that says "Allows open this type of file with this program" (Exact working varies with versions of Windows)
Click OK.
Now all .mp3 files will open with WMP
Repeat process for any other file extensions you want to open in WMP.

CONTROL PANEL > FOLDERS > FILE TYPES TAB
You can change ANY file type here (you're going to want .wmv) and click 'change' to change the program used.
