The 'Reservation" policy had the noble aim of uplifting certain sections of our population who had been discriminated against for generations because of the prevalent caste system.
However, the success of a policy is not in how good/bad it is, but how well it is implemented. It has met with only partial success. The reservation system was also misused by a section of population and as a result a large number of people whom it was supposed to help still remain destitute.
There is a need to rethink this policy and implement a more progressive one now.

Resevation started In India as per costitution on 26/01/1950.
To uplift the downtodden. Aim was to bring such people the part of society at par with others.

Reservation was started from when our country got independent.
Its basic purpose was to redeem the backward classes which had been serving other people for so many centuries and were treated as untouchables.Dr. Ambedkar who made India's Constitution had given that such reservations should be given till the completion of 25 years of India's Independence.But no political party had the guts to remove provision because they knew that if do this then they will lose their voters from the backward classes and hence reservations are still being given when actually it should have been removed many years ago.

reservation was started to help the down trodden to improve in life more than 50 years back,
it was supposed to last only for a few years only- intention clear.
but now it has become a political vote bank and no political party has the courage to reverse it.
now the reservations are not for the down trodden , it is for the once down trodden.
the aim achieved long back.but being misused now.

nearly in 1950,to help v poor among sc/st,yes achieved,was meant for 10 yrs.,now its reverse is happening,people with merit and poor may be,r not given jobs or admission,many r dying or commiting suicides due to misrule by power hungry congre.govt.,and vote politics
