You can't rule out that it is an infection especially if you are prone to getting them, it could also be that the baby is pinching a nerve and that is causing your back and leg pain. Try getting down on your hands and knees( gravity will pull the baby toward the floor hopefully off the nerve that is being pinched) or you could stand up and bend at the waist supporting yourself with your arms on a counter or something and legs a bit more than shoulder width apart and rock back and forth on your feet( sometimes this will work too) Those are a couple of things that the hospital had me do for two of my three babies. Hope you get some relief, but be sure to check with your doctor to make sure that it isn't an infection. Good luck

Pain from a kidney stone or infection would definitely start in the lower back, but it would radiate toward the front and on to your bladder area. A bladder infection would also be pain in the front and not include any part of the back. It really sounds like sciatic nerve pain aka sciatica. The sciatic nerve starts at your spine in your lower back, runs thru your butt muscles, thru your pelvic bones, down your legs, and on to your toes. You can get pain anywhere along this nerve. It's really common in pregnancy because the baby can be putting pressure on the nerve...and it can definitely be "intense" pain or just mild discomfort.

Sounds more like your sciatic nerve. If it were kidney or urinary tract you would be running a low grade fever at the very least. Talk to your doctor but I have a feeling you're stuck with the pain - at least until the baby shifts. He/she is probably up against the nerve.

Go to the emergency room right now. Don't wait. Or at the very least, call your regular doctor right this second and tell them your symptoms and see what they advise.

"Intense pain" when you are pregnant is not something you want diagnosed by a bunch of amatuers on the Internet! There is no way anyone on here could tell what is wrong with you, and hardly anyone on here has any medical training.

How far along are you and do you have a fever?

I am no doctor but, could also be the baby is sitting on a nerve and that is why your leg hurts too. Babies do weird things to our bodies. Maybe when you call the doctor they might recommend some physical therapy. I had to go for the last two months of my pregnancy.
Don't worry, you'll be fine.

I would talk to your doctor, it could be a lot of different things. I had carpal tunnel in both wrists when I was pregnant, my daughter was positioned on that certain nerve, the pain was intense.
I would just tell your doctor, ask her what it might be. Good Luck.

I have the same thing and it is just the uteris resting in you pelvic area and pushing on your sciatic nerve. I hate to tell you, but it probably won't get any better until the pregnancy is over. But I am not a doctor, so I would suggest just talking to him/her and making sure that is all that's wrong. good luck!

Not to undercut your pain but for the love of god go to the doctor. It is probably the extra weight and the position of the baby putting pressure on your sciatic nerve.

it could be a lot of stuff.....here are a few...I am almost five months and I have what feels like a side stitch (like when your running and you get out of breath and get that really bad pain in your side...)...thats caused my stretching ligaments..perfectly normal...if its kinda crampy on that side...you could have to go pooh lol....drinking half a cup of prune juice (soo nasty tasting I know..sip it...or gulp it...I sip cuz gulping it is just wrong lol)..that works in about an hour...you could be wearing the wrong types of shoes....try something with more support....so pop a tylenol..lay on your left side for awhile..if that doesnt fix it....start trying the different suggestions lol..and if that STILL isnt working..call the doc and just ask if thats normal...my mom use to get what we called "hot spots"..its where if you get up really fast..or suddenly change positions it burns in a few spots for about 15 seconds..it hurts SOOO bad..thats from stretching ligaments as well...good luck and member if the pain is too bad..call the doc asap...good luck
