I was two weeks overdue and didn't want to be 'started off' by the hospital. I drank a large gin in a hot bath with half a bottle of castor oil - an old remedy for abortion apparantely makes your womb contract and expel. Can only be done if overdue and midwives don't advise it, I did it and was in full labour within four hours. It worked a treat

my wife was 10 days late and booked in on the wednesday to be induced which she really didn't want to have to go through as her friend had gone throug it a few weeks earlier and it took 3 days to actually deliver baby. she tried everything to get her started, curry, sex, baths the lot and none of it worked for her. she wasn't sleeping well as you probably are experiencing yourself, she drank a warm horlicks before bed to help her sleep. not sure if it was the horlicks that did it but 2 hours later her waters broke.
also her top tip to anyone expecting a delivery in the short future is after a bath rub a small amount of baby oil to the skin around the vagina it is supposed to make delivery easier as the skin is softer, it worked for her, she delivered our beautiful 8lb daughter had two very small tares but needed no stitches.
good luck :-)

Rapsberry leaf tea (or capsules if you can't stomach the taste) followed by a hot *** and pineapple curry (sorry to be rude!)! Alternatively - patience I'm afraid is the only real answer as none of these old wives tales really work - just try not be induced as it raises the risk of having an assisted borth.

Look just let nature do it's work u never know if rushing can harm either u or the baby, just calm down you start labor when ever your baby is ready to come, the safest thing you could do is walk alot and take Mild showers, hope this works. Good luck and Congratulations!

Sex is the fun way, worked for me with my first pregnancy,
Take a hot bath with lavender oil in it or chow down on a Chinese chicken curry, both of which worked for my second and third, the chicken curry was that nice I was wouldnt go to the hospital until I was finished.
a friend suggested and tired drinking caster oil, works for some people but wouldn't recommend it as it is vile.

This is what my midwife told me since my sister-in-law's wedding was two days before my due date: Dance at the wedding, have a glass of wine, and go home and have sex! Well, I did the first two (I was too tired to have sex), and a day later my water broke!
I've also been told to take a long walk, or go for a ride on a bumpy road, or eat spicy food.

It's best to let it happen naturally or with your doctor inducing. I tried everything at the end of mine to put me in labor and nothing worked. I read that you bring on contractions by rubbing your nipples and i did that for 2 days and nothing. As for sex, walking, the bumpy road and all the other suggestions, I'm pretty sure they worked because they were ready to begin labor

Go for long walks (or for as long as you can manage) this worked for my cousin. My labour started naturally, but I walked around the hospital and it made the contractions come faster.

A nice curry. It worked for me. The doc said: have sex - drink raspberry leaf tea or have a curry..........I couldn't bear the thought of sex, couldn't find the tea so curry was the only option. I went into labour the same night!!! Good luck!
