im 25 and i have been doing this look for sbout 5 years. i always get loads of compliments on it. this is what you want to do girl. you dont want to go too dark around the eyes cuz then you'll look like a strung out model. dont get a shade of black that is too dark (i bought a straight black shade of jane and it was way too dark). use a mix between grey and black. the secret is to apply the right amount of liner and mascara. i line the upper line (the normal place you apply liner) and lower line of my eyes. then i apply a thin line at the top around the lashes. get as close to the eyeline as possible and then slightly blend it in. apply a light shad of grey at the top portion of the eye, consentrating at the crease and end of the eye. take a brush and blend it very well. you can also apply a shade before you apply the charcoal color (i use a shimmery white). this will help the charcoal color to blend in better. then apply mascara. load it on but dont let it clump (i usecover girl lash exact, it never clumps. best i have ever found. if you dont have this kind soak your regular mascara in a cup of hot water while your applying your liner and shadow. a tip i got from cosmo and my best friend.this works just as well.) you dont want your mascara to look like spider legs. thats unclassy. also, if you want to eyebrows to look more arched apply your base coat of eyeshadow (mine would be the shimmery white. i use the bon bon shimmery white, cheap and works better than the $20 clinique shadow that i bought) a little thicker directly under the ends of the eyebrow and blend in . this all sounds a little confusing do if you want me to clarify anything just e-mail me. trust me though, this is the best way to do it. ive had a lot of experience with this. my best friend is a gay cosmatologist and he had me show him how to do this cuz he loved it a lot. his clients frequently request it. hope this helps!

The best product I have seen so far for an EASY and QUICK professional smoky eye look is from Mally Roncal's Mally Beauty Smoky Eye Palette. It comes with a shadow base, three colors and an eyeliner to top off the look! The best shades are the navy blues which look amazing with brown eyes, and she also has a palette of very nice browns, which will complement your natural eye color, and is very good if you want something a little more subtle.

Blacks and greys make the most dramatic smoke eye look. With light brown eyes you could use those colours or browns if you want more of a daytime look. Also, dark plums and purples are great! Line your eye witha pencil...use a khole, or Kajal on the inner bottom lid. (important for the look) Then use a lighter shade on the middle of your upper lip. Then a dark shde along the eyeliner and into a cressant shape at the corner of your eye...up into the crease of your eye. The shadow in your crease should be extened over the crease...abouve. And worked to the outer corner of your eye, and a smuge onder your eye in the outer corner. Good luck!!

Carmel cream colors, chestnut browns, honey huges all are great, even a great eye shadow for smoky-ness is the too-faced line, they have a pretty black with silver flakes which is easy to put on and blend.
