how can you make the scented rice bags

If you want to make the scented bags, you'll probably want to try and get actual dried herbs to include with the rice. You could *try* soaking the rice in essential oil, but I'm not sure how well that would work - I'd be afraid the bag would get slimy. I suppose another option would be to soak some cotton flannel in the essential oil, and just tuck that into the middle of the bag before you fill it the rest of the way. But I still think the dried herbs are your best bet.

And for what it's worth, I prefer using flax seeds rather than rice.

I've made them using those extra-long socks in the men's department at any store. Just fill the socks up with as much rice as you need and sew up the ends.
These are pretty durable for heating in the microwave, versus other materials.

sstuff a man's crew sock. i did this when i was pg and it worked like a dream. put the rice in the sock and tie the sock in a knot. there you go.

Get some terry cloth, fill it with rice and sew it up!
