This is a though one!

You will need to start by determining if they try to contact you. If they don't, well that's obvious.

If they do then ask them what kind of error they get and add details here. It would be important to know which program you use as well as both of your firewalls.

They may not be checking their accounts, or their inboxes are overwhelmed. This is often the case with popular Internet people.
Or it may be that the account is dead.

sure you don't want to re-phrase this or add some more info? you're opening yourself up for some silly remarks...add some more info, are you e-mailing? are you not able to receive e-mail but you can send it? maybe whomever you're contacting doesn't want to contact you...
