around 30 seconds for an average swimmer

any thing faster than 24 is a very good swimmer
any thing slower than 37 umm. well they should probably start coming to practice more

I'd like to answer but i don't understand the question fully. Did you mean 50 m/s? or 5 m/s? and if you do have the speed, then what average are you looking for? Please explain I'll try to see what i can help you with, OK?

50 m freestyle? --> breast stroke?
for an avarage man, trained 2 times a week it could be 30 seconds
If you train a lot you can easy improve it to 25 seconds.
