Why do conservatives think the failing of Air America means anything at all?

I think it just proves that liberals dont need their news filtered through hate to them.That we can think for ourselves and dont need to be told what to think.
If we needed to be told what to think then air america would have been fine.

Actually, the reason Air America failed is because it offers nothing different than they can get on ABCBSNBCCNN. They already get slanted biased news and liberal commentary from the media, why would they need to listen to a radio station to hear the same stuff.

Look at the loopy lefty lunacy of Kieth Olberman, the insipid lefty 'comedy' of Jon Stewart, the 'fake but accurate' "reporting" of Dan Rather, etc. They can get all the slant and lies they want in the media. They don't need alternate sources of the same views.

Conservative / right-wing talk radio came about because of the one-sided bias of the media. There was no other place to hear a non-leftist biased news or commentary.

Actually, it is the conservatives who listened to the media and noticed what they said was just not quite correct; it is you lefties who buy up their one-sided reporting, unquestioning, unthinking. That's why you always sound so ignorant - you never question what you're told.

It means whatever libs THINK and FEEL doesn't have to be tempered by the truth or facts that just get in the way...everyone doing and thinking whatever is right in their own mind...a sure recipe for the collapse of order, govenment, society and a culture...kind of like personal anarchy. Air America failed because libs can't and won't get together on what they think and feel...therefore, nobody listens and advertisers won't support a "bad" business venture. This country will only be strong when we unite behind our leaders while they are in office, even if and when we have differing opinions. If we don't like current policies and directions, vote a new administration in based on presenting good ideas and policies...NOT on just bashing the other party and its members. How sad to see that all the libs and media talk about is Foley when we have SERIOUS issues that need to be addressed...things that our future survival depend upon. Lib's hatred disrupts the orderly flow of government and society...that's really scarey!

Air America does not provide news, it provides liberal spin. They tell you every 5 minutes it is America's Progressive talk. Don't expect news or fairness, you won't get it there.

But to answer your question, the Conservatives don't care about Air America. Most have never even heard it, much like liberals don't listen to Rush. They are just laughing because Rush has been on the air for 30 years and Air America didn't make 5 before Soros pulled his money putting AA into a tail spin.

Air America was awful radio , wasn't funny or even informative unless you agree with the hosts .
But what Air America was good for was showing that liberals didn't really understand America , and if you elect liberals this is what your going to get .
Personally I want them to stay on the air,as they are the perfect bad example of what liberalism brings to the table .

Recently we had the world cant wait day protest here in Sf , less than 500 people , this tells me that liberalism is on the ropes and the self important fools and Air America are helping to destroy, there own movement .

The bad thing is many people listened to Rush Limbaugh and his campaign of hate. The Democrats were demonized and everyone became radical. The country has been divided.
Listen to some of these coments they are hate mail.
They are not what I thought it would be people discussing the issues. Getting others opinions on things.

When WW2 broke out, Germany was a country of farmers and friends. They were poor but they helped each other. Everyone didn't hate the Jews. Just as here in the midwest we have Muslims and they are doctors and friends and we live and work together. But this small band of Austrian men begin to gain power and people listened to them they were going to change lives and bring about prosperty. The average farm didn't even have a radio. They didn't know what was happening in the rest of the world. They managed to over throw the government.
That is when Hitler took power. Oh, he changed lives alright.
He killed Germans to. Not just jews. But he made all our problems because of the Jews. Everything was their fault.
But it was his men who went in to the farms and stole all the food.
And his men who shot the young men who wouldn't join his army.
German's were made to believe by killing the Jews all our problems would be solved. Anyone who got in our way was against the mother land and God himself. He ruined everyone's life, the country and its rural farms. the lucky ones were those who escaped and came to this country.
Now it is happening again. Only now it is the Islamic people.
When you quite remembering what happened you do it again.
Do you know what it takes to fuel a war?? Two oposeing sides that one or the other side gets radical. We are on the verge of civil war.

Well, it has to mean SOMETHING. I think it means that listeners don't want to spend much time hearing their country get trashed. In the interest of being fair, I tried to listen to the Young Turks and Randi Rhodes. Randi was in a blind rage, and the Young Turks made arguments that didn't make sense.

Listeners will only put up with so much of that.

Wow. You liberals think you can spin anything to make it look good, huh?

Air America failed for two reasons:

1 - No one wanted to hear their ranting all day. They had boring, and uninformative shows and hosts.

2 - The mainstream media is so liberally slanted that people did not need to turn to alternative sources to hear what they wanted to hear.

Conservative talk radio is booming because they tell the truth, and people are getting sick of the liberal spin on everything.

Air America is still running. It's even on XM. BTW, both AM and XM are filled with conservative talk, in between the foreign-language stations on AM. (After all, they've got the $ to buy the stations, right? :)
