My best friend is a girl (i'm a guy) and we get on great, but some days in school we dont even talk. We are both 15 if that matters, and there have always been rumors flying around about us. Today for example, I only talked to her during the last 3 classes, before that we barely said hi. Also, the thing is that when we do talk she seems to be more honest with me, like if I ask her how she is she will tell me if she isnt feeling great (whereas with most other people she will just say fine or something). So, why do we not talk at all so often? With other girls whom arent as good friends with me, I can joke and mess with whenever I see them, but with her it is only if an actual conversational chance comes up, like if we are standing in the same group. (We don't just shout out hi to each other from accross the room--which I would with other people) Despite this she is my best friend, but I am just wondering why it is awkward sometimes.

Perhaps there are unexplored feelings between the two of you. Or it could be that you value her friendship so much (and she values yours) that you dont want to taint the relationship with idle chit chat.

If it isnt either of these reasons, it could be something completely different, but perhaps you both need to sit down and address this issue in person. If all goes well, you can still be great friends.

Hopefully there isnt anything underlying the problem.. neither one of you have offended each other nor have you simply grown apart?

Good luck and best wishes for the future. Friends are rare, look after them.

Is it possible that she has deeper feelings for you than she's letting on? That's why she might be so self-conscious of having other people observing you and why she "limits" the conversations. Maybe people know she likes you in a romantic way and they "rub" it in when you two are together? It's just a hunch but I feel that this is true...

Do you feel like you like her more than just a friend? If so, take the leap, let her know!! You're only young once, don't live with regrets!!

hi,know wat...i've been through tha same thing.
my advice to u'd be that...just don't care wat others has to bout the relation u guys share, and NEVER EVER hestitate to talk her..we never know when the other person needs us to be there for her/him.
as u have told she replies to you honestly bout her present state of condition and not to others thats coz she wants you to be there for her to take care of her,to listen to her problems and do all the things that one can do only with his/her best friend.
JUS DON'T WORRY BOUT WHAT OTHERS SAY.....O.K????

this guy sounds like he might be gay, and just not into you. I'd move on.
