Depends where you live - in a hurricane or tornado prone areas they make great "portable" homes. Some of the new ones are really nice inside - you would never know it was a mobile home..

Some folks are in a hurry to live in a place of their own, so they buy a trailer. The trailer businesses make it really easy to get into one. Sometimes nothing down. The downside is the trailer does not increase in value like a conventional home will. You will never get back the money you've invested in it. The materials are of cheaper quality. I know some folks who work at GM and make plenty of money and still live in a mobile home. It seems their priorities are not in order. So if that's what you like, I suppose its OK to live in a trailer home. Me, I saved until I could build my own house....its way more better than a trailer.

I have a feeling living in a mobile home you have to embrace a certain culture. I don't think someone would enjoy themselves very much if they lived in a mobile home just to save on rent.

Nothing wrong with living there if that's all you can afford.
I think it's a great way for young people to start out if they can't afford a house right away.
I just wouldn't live anywhere near flat ground if I lived in one.
Trailers are notorious for being tornado magnets.

What do you think? Don't ever base your opinions on someone else's response. I have seen some smoking mobile homes. As long as you are satisfied that is what is important.

Some of them are actually quite nice. Nothing wrong with living in them but I wouldn't where there are tornadoes. They totally fall apart.

Well, where I'm from and in a couple of other states they are known as tornado magnets but other than that there's really nothing wrong with them I guess.
