go to your nearest Social security office with a copy of your divorce (whoops) marraige liscense, then wait for your card in the mail, next go to the DMV, (MVD in AZ why? I duno) and have your drivers liscense changed, next off to the bank to have your bank account changed. Now your name is changed, oh I forgot you may need to have some misc id's and name tags used at work changed as well. Make sure you change your name on your home insurance, and car insurance, you wouldnt want them to deny the claim because you aren't the policy holder. to answer your queston how hard is it. Well it's a big pain in the butt but a child could do it.

You need to send a copy of your marriage certificate to the Social Security Administration and request a new SS card. (there should be a branch in your town. Look in your phone book under "United States Government" and then under "Social Security" to get the number. You will probably need to make an appointment)

You also need to give a copy of your marriage certificate to your bank and send in a copy with your tax return.

You sign the 'register of Marriage' in the name you wish to be known as during the marriage. It is generally your own first names and your new husbands surname. You may well decide to retain your maiden (single) name, so you would sign it as that. Again, you may decide to hyphenate both your names, i.e., Smith-Jones, it being your maiden name followed by his name. There is little or no problem, as the next time your are at your bank, you inform them of your 'new' name and obtain cheques etc., in the name you chose. Most tax forms etc., have married name, previous name etc.................
