Yes I have seen the film. In fact I watched it with a good friend of Jim Morrisons, Glen Buxton, who was the original lead guitarist with the Alice Cooper group. He was one of Morrison's friends and drinking buddies and had some interesting stories to add along side the movie. Glen and I were friends and worked together on some TV and music projects up until his death in '97. He confirmed a lot of stories about Jim Morrison and was actually impressed by the film. They both ended up as casualities due to lifestyle excess. A real shame. We miss them both.

Yes, own it. I thought that Val Kilmer was great as Jim and that Meg Ryan was a great Pam.
You may want to read No One Gets Out of Here Alive, if you haven't already. It's about Morrison, great read.

OMG!!!! you liked the movie???

What was your fav. part? was it when Meg Ryan's character actually called Jim Morrison "VAL" in the shower scene??
Or how about when Jim Morrison is on the window ledge (supposedly in 1971) and you can clearly see a billboard for the movie another 48 hours???
Or the few times during the movie when Jim morrison speaks and his lips DON"T MOVE!!!
Or was it when Jim was drinking Miller Genuine draft which wasn't made yet...

dude this movie was so wrong and has so many goofs it was like they were trying to make a comedy...

I haven't seen it... yet. The only portion I saw of the movie was when The Doors played Light My Fire; Ed got real mad, though. They're gonna make a new one pretty soon though, if you read the article on The Doors Official Website.

Not all the way through but I think the concept was absolutely brilliant, a stroke of genius. It's great to see an actual idea like that rather than the "I've no idea, let's do a cr*ppy remake of a classic."

Yes. Even though it is embellished and somewhat not accurate, I enjoy it.
