And do you slowly stop taking it, or did your dr. have you just completely stop altogether once you hit 10-12 weeks?

I'm not sure specifically how you stop taking it, but around the second trimester is the time that the placenta starts to produce enough progesterone on its own to maintain the pregnancy.

I suffered two early miscarriages, only to find out that they were caused by insufficient progesterone. My OB started me on progesterone shots at 5 weeks and I continued them through week 10. I was very nervous to stop the shots at 10 weeks, for fear of losing the pregnancy. However, I talked to several people who had the same problem, and they, too, were taken off of progesterone at 10 weeks, and all turned out fine. I am now 27 weeks and have not had any more problems due to the progesterone. Oh...and I was taken off all at once, not weined off. I wish you the best of luck and I hope I've helped some. :)
