Ive been getting messages advising me to not allow certain people to add my to thier list because the invitation is a virus. is this possible?

It depends!

With some previous beta versions of Msn Messenger for example, a lot of viruses were received .

With this kind of scenario, accepting a contact you don't know at all could possibly be the beginning of this ugly chain. Since the next step would be for your computer to send the virus to all your Msn contacts, if you get such an infection.

They would see the virus as being sent by you!

No, you cant get a virus from invites. However, files shared with one another can give you a virus. It is always good to have a virus scan on your computer and run it nightly. One never knows when the next massive worm is going to come out to destroy our beloved machines.

The invitations aren't viruses, but the invited people can send you some viruses.
