offer a service,,, clean your house for $ 0,5 buck/m sq or something, it is not about privacy, it is about bussiness, and you have an excuse to ask it

MS or no MS, this is typical OCD behaviour. Clean their house all you like, it will be back the same in no time.

This isn't slovenliness or laziness. Don't mistake them for slobs.

If you aren't sure then enlist the aid of close friends, who won't be judgmental and who won't gossip about them in school, to help you clean the house. See what happens.

If it stays clean, with occasional help from you, then great.

If not, then, your best bet, contact the public health department, there are psychologists available who check into these situations all the time. You aren't equipped to deal with this or come up with a solution to this problem yourself and, unless the people responding to your question are certified psychologists, neither are they.

I know I wouldn't qualify to help someone that obviously needs more help than just help around the house.

Good luck with your friend, she is facing a long battle if she chooses to accept help. And, good luck with your friend's mother, she will appreciate your concern at this time in her life.

I would offer to help clean once a week, you can also call the animal control or humane society for the pets. Maybe if they come out and tell her to clean up or they will have to take the dogs, it might encourage them to clean up a little.

It's a pigsty. And your English is atrocious.
Call the Health Department, and they will remove the animals. The place need to be scoured. Your friend must smell like her house.

This is a perfect place for MYOB-sorry-it ain't your house, therefore, it ain't your problem/decision/authority. If you find their house offensive then you need to either suck it up or arrange to have your friend meet you at your house or someplace other than her house or loose the friend(bearing in mind that this may be all she knows and to her it is normal, OR she has no say in what her house looks like.

ok, i have some experience with this, my mother in law is a SLOB, i feel so bad for my husband who had to grow up like that, junk is piled to the ceiling and there is dirt and dust everywhere! i would not ask her mother if you can help, its her house and there isn't anything you can do about it, but you can ask your friend, maybe her mom see's that you guys are cleaning up the house she'll want to help, i would call the SPCA about it thought, the animals shouldn't be living like that

I would straight up ask if you can help. Explain to your friend that you understand that helping out with her mom and taking care of everything is alot of work, and that you would like to lend a hand. If they refuse, then they just LIKE living like that, and there is nothing you can do. invite your friend to your house to watch the movie. It is quite possible that with the mom with MS, they just can't keep up with everything, especially if she is really bad off with it. I think its good that you want to help your friend out. sounds like she has alot to deal with.

I've known people like this and believe it or not they like living like that! Even if they complain about it they wouldn't have it any other way! It just makes me more of a neat freak!!

You can offer your friend's mom your help. It is unlikely she will take it though. A person's home is their castle and what ever it looks like is their business.

Let her sit in for awhile and don't do anything. Don't clean it. From my expierence i have found that even a rat will clean up when they can't get back into their hole in the wall.
