Do you think flipping someone off, and cursing is basically the same thing? I mean, I know it's not exactly the same. But it nearly is. So why is it against the law to curse at someone, but not flipping them off? Does it have something to do with verbal abuse? I dunno..and for those of you who think cursing at someone isn't illegal, it is. I found out by a cop the other day. In Texas it is anyways. Well, I'
m just curious. Thanks!

Yea, the law in the states do suck! I also found out if you were to just put a hand on a person, like pat them on their back. And they didn't like it, you could go to ******* jail!

Words are words to me and i feel that even without cursing you can always give off the insulting effect that you are wanting... Did you know that in Shakspearian times if you bit the end of your thumb at someone it was like the modern day flipping off. the middle finger is what you make it. Anything can be insulting if that is the reasponse you are wanting.

Flipping a person off should be more insulting but cursing hurts soft skins.

i believe it is pretty much the same thing in most cases. but sometimes cussing at someone through a car window soesnt work, so you get flicked off instead. this is what happens on the road instead of cussing someone out. since you are in a car and could totally ream them hardcore, it pisses you off even more that you cant or wont becase fo the trouble tat will conclude. is that what you mean?

I had no idea it was illegal. It's probably one of those "old world" laws that no one ever bothered to change or strike from the records. There's a law like that here in Virginia. Did you know it's legal to beat your wife on the courthouse steps on a Wednesday, if she "gets out of line"?

It's illegal to do anything in the states!! They'll sue for anything!

I'd think it's the same, verbal abuse to one person, but if you flip the bird to a deaf person, isnt it the same??? :P
