I have a male Shih Tzu puppy the I named Loki (and believe me he lives up to his namesake) I am getting another Shih Tzu but this one will be female. Any suggestions on names? I'd like to stay with the mythological names but I haven't found any that appeal to me or seem like they would go with "Loki". Something easy to spell and pronounce would be good too...LOL

You named your dog after Loki?? I hate to say this but you deserve what you will get from that. Never never name a dog after a selfish or evil God or person from mythology. No good can come from that.

As far as Norse names from mythology you might want to take a look at the link below. There are lots of the names from the Norse myths

There is Sigyn (Sig-IN)...She was the Wife of Loki.
Hela (Hell-uh) The daughter of Loki and ruler of the realms of the dead (Hel and Nifelheim) Either of these would make a fitting to go with Loki

I recommend "The Poetic Edda" as translated by Lee M. Hollander. Also, "The Norse Myths" from the Pantheon Fairy Tale & Folklore Library as translated by Kevin Crossley-Holland is good too. (It's a little "less deep" too). Both are good. Both contain ALL the legends from the Poetic Edda, including the ones featuring Ragnarok, and were translated from Old Icelandic.

I like Freya (or Freyja, Frejha etc.) - she's cool and one of the most well known Norse goddesses, combing love, fertility and a certain fieryness!

- and her name is easy to say, too (fray - a)
