I am asking this question since I posted a question a while back, concerning the gap between me and my fiance. (20 and 45) I am not having second thoughts about getting married, since I love him and he loves me too. Since I am Filipina and he is American, I am being judged to be one of those Philippine mail order bride. Whoah! It's terrible how people GENERALIZE Filipinas. I belong to a well off family and I have had a relationship with someone my own age but I am never happier than I am now. Q: Are there any chances that Filipinas could beat it with the F.M.O.B thing?

well the age gap does not help and the natrualization through marriage doesnt help either. the best thing is that when people ask how you meet tell them the truth with as much detail as you can. and the thing about thinking you are a m.o.b. is that why did he go to another country to find a wife and you will get it mostly from other women who are catty and well ugly on the inside which is why many men go to other countries to find brides

If you don't want to be judge then stay where you are. My guess you haven't left home outside of Philippines in a while. If your not white Christian male who play golf in this country your the 2nd class like the rest of us. You will be judge and you will be judge fast and hard. As fast as you open your mouth and when they have a look at you.
Once you accept the fact you will be judge on 1) race, 2) sex, 3) age, 4) education and 5) your social skill. You will know where you stand in this country. If you feel you can hide in this country then you will in a prison in your own home for the rest of your life.
Being a "Filipinos" especially in the west coast in the US like san Diego’s in the military base the term is call " Asian persuasion". The Philippines are everywhere. Mostly white man with young Philippines wife.
You sound you have a simple ideal how the world work and what you want in life. Let me make a recommendation for you if you are going to marry this man.
1)Don’t depend on anyone in life; learn how to live on your own. You’re with someone not because you “need” him but want to be with him.
2)Get an education, I mean a “real” education, here in the state or anywhere. Trust your self that you can do that. I recommend in the field of medical.
3)If you feel age is not an issue then be award you will be on you own in about 25 to 30 years with kids. Know what you getting into.
4)Make a few good friends you can trust, just no male; it will help you along the way.
I just married 2 years ago. There is 14 years different between my wife and me. The year after I got married my brother married a Filipino, she is a very nice person and my brother is very protective of her but that does not help her in the long term because she knows she is by herself here. The fear and loneness she has is pretty hard on anyone. She is currently trying to go to school in the state, which my family fully supports.
I just figure you are in a country like Philippine which most of your population migrate out to other country to work so you are train in dealing with that. It’s a big step I hope everything work out for you. You just can NOT act like 20 year old and trying to survival in this country without being really hurt. It’s hard to tell you to grow up when I was 20 I was just acting like a kid my self.
