I just watched North Country last night. Amazing film.
While I'm fortunate that I've never been through anything as horrendous as Josey, I have oft been criticized for standing up for what I believe in. I cannot understand how people can be so uncaring as the antagonists in the film. Do you stand up for what's right? Would you let a friend or coworker stand alone just to save your own rear end?

Bearing in mind I've never seen the film...

I'll stand up only for what I, personally, think is right. And when I do it goes all the way.

I don't easily get mixed up in fights that aren't my own. Seems to me that if somebody wants to get in to it best they be able to stand their own ground or stand down.

I'm not the cavalry.

Though if something seems especially wrong I might just mosey on over and lend a hand...
