My step daughter is on that site everyday all day. I do not know that much about it but ive seen so many shows about it not being safe. She has a protected password so i cant check it to make sure she is being safe. Is this a safe site for a 14 yr old girl to be on???

I am a married mother of 3 daughters and I love my Myspace. I have to admit there are some inappropriate things on there that are not meant for a girl of her age to see. I suggest that you monitor her time spent on her myspace. Don't let her stay on all the time, give her a set time frame that she can be on there with you monitoring her. Tell her that she can have the site only if you can have full access to her password at all times. I have 2, 14 year old sisters on the site and they are very responsible and have only 5 of there closest friends they talk to on there friends list. Make sure your daughter only has friends from her school that she knows on her site.
And remember, if you take this privilege from your daughter she will just go behind your back and keep the myspace and be more of a rebel.
Hope this helps.

NO it's not!!! I can honestly there's A LOT more trash on there then any 14 year old should ever see. I have a myspace page SOLEY for posting pictures of my baby girl, that's it, none of my info is on there, and it's all pictures of her, and I CONSTANTLY get invites for porn and web cam shows and absolute filth. In fact that's pretty much where my ex-husband met all his affairs. I strongly suggest you warn your daughter not to get into trouble there. Granted there are ligitmit people on the site and use it appropriately, but, the bad out weigh the good in this situation..

No, it isnt. She could be chatting it up with a 30 yr old for all she knows. My niece met a guy on myspace and ran away to be with him. She was 14. He took her virginity. He was 20. Make her give you the password so you can monitor her the way she should be. If she refuses, then dont allow her on it anymore. She should have nothing to hide if she isnt doing anything wrong.

I dont think a 14 year old should be there in My Space becasue theres alot of older men that are just looking for little girls you should just tell her to show you her site and read her comments so that you can make sure how she doing and who shes talking to..

She should be safe as long as she's smart about it. Sit her down and talk to her about not giving anyone her info, not accepting strangers, etc. Also, I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but since she's 14, her profile should automatically be private, unless she lied about her age. If it's private, then no one can view her page unless she gives them permission.

i have myspace page, as well as my very close friend's daughters one of them 18 and the other 13.. to me they still kinda immature and i am worried about them beind on myspace like you said all day everyday! i think that the danger of it that they can meet people some crazy people out there...
other wise i think that you have everything under control right now and you sholdnt be worried much.. but talk to your daughter and explain to her of the right behavior when she is online.. so it wont lead to any missunderstanding..

It can be safe, but it can be dangerous. If she is just communicating with her friends, then it is safe. If she is communicating with Men, who pretend to be boys, then that could be dangerous. Watch out for them perverts....

it's safe if you don't give out any personal info, just remind her not to give it out
