I'm going to have problems deciding which answer to choose; the response is COOL.

I think it refers to those people who post nonsense replies just to get the two points for replying to a question. Some people don't even attempt to hide it they just say, "thanks for the 2 points" and since that is mentioned as a violation in the rules here I believe that is what points gaming means. It wouldn't refer to the poster of the question because posting a question costs you 5 points rather than earning you any.

It's answering questions just for points rather than trying to help people. You can read about this under community guidlines.

This is what the Community Guidelines say:
"4. NO POINT-GAMING: You may not post content for the explicit purpose of gaining points, trading points, or soliciting others for points or otherwise "game" the Yahoo! Answers points system."

Points gaming is putting up questions or answering them ONLY for points -- like announcing "Hey, 10 points to the person who answers me first."

The purpose here is to get answers to real questions, not just scramble for points -- honest! LOL!!

another severe case is when you have people who don't know the answer but put up some silly answer.

IE:
what is a dog?
answer A cat
