wow great way to put it..i know the feeling...you put your trust heart love into some one and they go destroy it....they appear to be a knight in shining armour on a trusty steeed ..when all it is is a jack asss with a dumbassss riding it

Well, unfortunately we all develop high expectations about what the ideal mate should be like. I think all men have to potential to be prince charmings, it is just wether we choose to see them in that light or not. I married the "tin man" when I was 20, and it did not last long. I had way higher expectations of my "prince charming" I thought the world revolved around me, and laundry should do itself. Needless to say - it didn't last long!! Just because he wasn't what I saw as prince charming, doesn't mean that he isn't a great guy for someone (just not me)
I have since found my true prince charming - and things aren't always perfect, but that is something I have learned to accept. We won't always look at our partner with those loving, googly eyes - no matter how hard we try. I love my current Husband more than anything - and he is my prince charming, I just sometimes find him without all of his shiny armour on - then I just help him clean it up and put it back on. I good relationship is about supporting each other, and working through things - together.

Oh yes, I think we all have at some point in time, but now that I am older and wiser I have learned that all the knights of the day are dead. Sure, I can find a great guy (the one I have now is wonderful) but I also have to realize that after all is said and done he is human and allowed to have flaws too. So I have made it a rule not to build up any man I date, but rather make myself aware of his faults so that rather than be disappointed when/if he screws up I am more excited when he does something great.

I have finally found my knight, but yes unfortunately I had to meet a bunch of losers before I met my current knight. He's out there ladies, sometimes it feels like finding a needle in a haystack, but he does exist so just be patient.

I think you should blamed yourself and stop criticising your husband. After all, you meet the wrong man and fall on him earlier. Thus, is very unfair to talk about what your knight in shining armour become aluminium foil. Think about it !

Oh yeah! Happily divorced and remarried to a true knight! We have a gorgeous "knight in training" together so I'm glad my first knight ended up rusty!

It seems like you just grew up and realized you fell in love for the wrong reasons. Chances are he had these flaws as we all do and the big misconception is that they will change. Get out now if you keep feeling this way.. Sorry about your situation

Funny quote.... never heard it before.
To answer your question, no, I've never felt that way and don't expect to. My knight came in Dark Iron armor and that's some of the best you can get.
