Koontz is ok sometimes. I've read a few of his books but only a couple have been good. The only one I really like is False Memory

I myself don't care for Koontz. Interesting story lines but poor writing skills. He churns them out too fast.
Have you read any Clive Barker, Neil Gaiman?
There's always "the King."
