As you get older and your metabolism slows down rice contains way too many carbs and it gets converted into fat fairly quickly if you aren't active. My aunt who is almost 80 who likes to golf was advised by her doctor not to eat as much rice.
Most people can look past this problem, but older people need to take this into consideration.

well friend looks like u will be loosing ur bet...there is no disadvantage of eating rice as such.....i am sure u will notice from answers here no one would be disliking rice....
in many countries in Asia...like Bangladesh . Thailand etc...rice is the main dish....rice comes in different forms...white rice / brown rice / small rice / long rice / black rice (from USA) etc etc....but the best rice in taste is basmati rice which only comes from the sub-continent i.e Pakistan and India.....its long grain , grows in length , gives wonder full aroma and doest stick to each other when cooked plus it has the lowest starch as compared to other types of rice...
the best thing about rice is u can make hundreds of different dishes using rice ...including cereals and used in sweet dishes....
best food when ur tummy is out of order...

Eating rice have no disadvantages according to me. My family is rice eater basically and we haven't suffered any disadvantage till now.

White rice can clog up your intestines. And also, rice is high in carbs which can often leave you feeling hungry again shortly after eating it.

no vitamin e so if that all you eat or a majority of what you eat you can go blind. look up golden rice and see how big the problem in china is with childhood blindness
