YES! Absolutely! Especially because as a renter you have less control over the safety of your environment. It's not that expensive either.....

I would recommend it if you have things of value that would be costly to replace. Is the cost of renter's insurance considerable lower in the long way for items you may have stolen or in a fire or natural disaster? Go with a reputable company and be sure to check out what kind of deductibles have to be met before reimbursement is made. Also, get a record from the ins. co. to list the assets you own/owe on.

If you have items that are valuable...not just furniture....that's easily replaced...but heirlooms, or jewelry then yes. I lived in a rental home that burned down, and did not have renter's insurance....I lost everything. I literally had the clothes on my back. Where I am at now, they actually require you to have renter's insurance. It's a good thing to have just in case...

Yes, I recommend it. Buying a renters insurance will cover your personal possessions against the loss of damages. It is less expensive. If you are planning to purchase one, for best quotes you may check http://rentersinsurance.nightbirdssolutions.com or http://rentersinsurance.nightbirdssolutions.com/quotes.html

It is a must!!! If you sustain a loss of your personal belongings due to wind, rain, tornados, hurricanes, flood, burglary or any other reason, renters insurance is the only way to get reimbursed for that loss. The landlord does carry insurance on the property, but it excludes all of your personal belongings.

If you can afford it, absolutely it's a good idea. If, for instance, your building (apartment or house) has a fire, you could lose everything (furniture, appliances, etc.). Without insurance, you'd have to come up with the money to replace these things by yourself. Of course, you need to determine if you actually have enough to make it worth the premium. It's an individual decision, but I think it's good to have it.

It really depends on the value of your belongings, at least that's what I learned working at a insurance company. If you don't have alot of valuable stuff ( money wise not of personal value ) then it is not worth the cost and fees.

Absolutely! I agree with what everyone else is saying. In my case I live in Germany with my husband because of the Air Force. We actually rented a house off the Air Base and there are not any smoke detectors in our house, because it isn't required here.

Yes. It covers you for tons of liabilities. If someone breaks their neck in your apartment, it covers their medical expenses. If thieves steal everything you have, you get new, better stuff. If there is a flood, you get new, better stuff.

Just don't get anything chincy, pay 15 bucks a month, and take pictures of your stuff so you can prove to them you had cool stuff.

It's a lot of piece of mind.

yes because if there is a fire or water damage or any loss, your landlord's insurance will not cover your stuff. Unless of course you are independently wealthy and can afford to replace all your stuff.
