they are only interested in getting into power where they can exercise it to the benefit of themselves and their powerful corporate backers.so they have to use bigotry and lies about conservative values of which they only pay lip service to to rally the large majority of people who they need to get into power in the first place.Its all about the politics of fear when they have to disguise their actions and attack opposition figures when they cant fight them on the issues.

It can be for some conservatives with limited brain capacity.
