Is there an evolutionary reason or is it just that we get the short end of the stick? Or is it that Body hair is like the plumage of a peacock meant to attract the opposite sex?

I think that is is just like the mane of a lion. Young (teenage) lions have a short mane, as they get older it gets bigger. That way females can tell who the older, and stronger male is.
These days men shave their beards, so we have to find other ways to tell the men from the boys.

Women have facial hair to. Something about the Y chromosome causes facial/ body hair. I am a woman (girly) that must produce a lot of testoterone too, because I grow dark hairs everywhere. It sucks and I spend about $100/ month to get rid of it. Just imagine having to maintain body hair as a woman.

Women also have facial hair, it just doesn't grow like men's hair does. Same with chest, back, etc.

For the person who is overly sensitive and gave me a thumbs down; the following is a joke - I don't personally believe in evolution, and do not think that women who have facial hair belong in the circus!

I think it has to do with the fact that men can look distinguished with facial hair... and women with facial hair are typically stars in a circus. So, an evolutionary desire not to be circus freaks kept women from growing facial hair.

Joke completed; you may resume complaining.
