Look for a program called AVG, it has a free edition and it works great, once you install it, it will scan your computer.

Trust me, if you have a virus, i will find it!

I really depends on which anti-virus you have, but you probably have one since you get this message.

Normally you'd just open the anti-virus program and look for an option to scan the computer. You could also try http://housecall.trendmicro.com which will allow you to clean your computer for free.

make sure that you have the latest updates for your antivirus. Download a firewall program like Zone Labs and install it.

Restart your computer so that it will run under "safe mode". Safe mode disables a lot of viruses. Then scan your system. It should kill it.

Scan with whatever antivirus program you are using...there should be an icon in your system tray (by the clock)...just double click it and it will open your antivirus.
