I used my Neighbors Lawn Mower and when i was done i didn't even let the handle go and it cut off itself. I tried starting it up again but nothing worked. I checked the gas and it was still full tank. SO why did it turn itself off and why isnt it coming back on? I would hate to have to buy a new Mower because it is broke. ....What now?

Well I had a similiar problem with my lawn mower a couple years ago. What I found to be the problem was the spark plug was filthy. What I did was take the spark plug out and took it too a hardware store and bought a similiar one. It only cost a couple $$. Also the carborator on the lawn may be clogged where the engine is not getting enough fuel and cutting out. Also check the air filter. If the air filter in filthy the engine is not getting enough air to function properly. This is also something you can pick up at the hardware store for a few $$$. So if you go to the hardware store for about $10-12 pick up a spark plug, an air filter and some carborator cleaner. These are all changes you can do in about 20 minute. Hopefully changing those things will get your neighbors mower running again. Goodluck.

It could be that the lead (from the handle) to the kill switch become
unhooked. That would turn it off in the way you descibed. Follow the cables
from the handles and make sure they're still hooked up to something. If
you see a cable not hooked up - bingo.

Did you check the oil? It has to have oil in it as well as gas. If you let it run without oil, it probably burned up the motor. Repairing it would be as expensive as buying a new one.

Good answer Michal T. The spark plug is usually the first thing to go.
