i heard of someone said that if your browser is being hijacked, so all of the stuffs related to Real Player won't work. Another strange thing is my homepage of I.E. always direct me to a website. No matter how many times i select "Use Blank" for my homepage, once i open my browser it automatically go to that website. This is gonna make me crazy already and i'm worrying about Worm too.
My case is when i double click the Real file with real player, my computer just shut down itself and i suspect there is virus that make it happen, but i scan my computer and the result is o.k. My solution now is to format my System drive, so i need the answer for future prevention. Thanks.

While you are browsing in the internet, do not click any suspicious URLs, a browser hijacker could possibly be installed on your computer once you click them, make sure the links you want to click on are from trusted sources.

It is also advisable to download and install a third-party security program to prevent your web browsers from being hijacked. If your computer gets infected with browser hijackers, no matter how many times you select "Use Blank" for your homepage, your browser would always go to the website automatically until you completely remove the hijackers.

To prevent these kinds of issues, it is essential to have an active anti-spyware program.

Two of the most commons are Spybot Search and Destroy and MS Windows Defender.

its not true . why your I.E takes you to a particular site is because of your internet browser settings and internet options chosen at the time of installing and activating your hardware.
go to tools menu on your browser choose internet options and make your settings as you desire alternatively ask a comp pro to do it for you. delete your real player from remove programs and try reloading it
