Yahoo has nothing to do with those. It's spam. Just delete it.

Do NOT establish any contact with those scam artists. And NEVER provide personal details to them, especially your bank details!

Of course they'll tell you it's not a scam. But it's just as certain that they are lying to you to try and cheat money out of you.

If you bought a lottery ticket, you'd claim it where you bought it. If you didn't buy a ticket, how could you win? And legit lotteries NEVER notify winners via e-mail!

Yahoo, as any other email provider, can not give any guarantees to the contents of it's customers email messages. It's mainly up to you to be extremely careful.

Use good judgement, do other researches on the details and do everything to legally protect yourself. If they require you to pay something or give sensitive information, be even more careful. Never send money to a site which doesn't provide a physical address and phone number, which you should also double check.

Contact a lawyer in case of doubt.

Yahoo! is NOT involved in lotteries or sweepstakes. What you have is a SCAM to get your personal information. What you should do is NOTHING. It's a scam. What is so hard to understand about that?

Yahoo! is a search engine they are not in the lottery or sweepstakes business.

Stop responding to the email you get. What is about SCAM that you are not understanding????????????????????????????

No legitimate company would use a yahoo.com address except Yahoo itself.

Since Yahoo does not operate a lottery of this kind, this kinda narrows it down to the illegitimate companies

And you do NOT want to deal with them
