well to tell you the truth it came from ancient florida when manatees ruled. when King Cow Manatee ruled in 343 BC he would sentence other manatees to death by using his shoulder to butt them in the face. One legend tells of a peasant who stole a loaf of bread so King Cow put him in a dungeon of ice and then when it was time to execute them, he went into the cold dungeon and butted him with his shoulder. hence the term cold shoulder
