If you are asking about turning off your computer without doing a "Shut Down", you run the risk of corrupting files on the PC. This may be the last file you saved (picture, music, etc), any files in use (such as your play list if you have music running, or the song itself, files for any programs that are open, etc) or even the files for Windows itself. If you corrupt the WIndows Registry, your computer will not longer boot and you may end up losing everything on it. So it is not recommended unless the computer is hung up and there is not other way of shutting it down.
