This is our big 5th anniversary and we have come so far as a couple so it is a really important one to me and him. We are going to a wonderful restaurant and a play...any ideas to help make the day a little more special. It's on a Friday and we have two young children, he should be home from work by lunchtime.

Well, mine was Deployed and came home for R&R (a wonderful present in itself)...but we went to the Local Jeweler and ordered a new Wedding Band set. We live in Germany, so these are real special. We had our names engraved on the inside with our Wedding Date....

ie: His Band: my name xx.12.05
My Band: his name xx.12.05

We didn't get a Trio Set as they don't have them here...the diamonds are too expensive. My ring has a tiny diamond chip and his is plain.

Good luck and congrats!

A favorite idea I have found to be effective is to re-live my first date. Did you go out for dinner and a movie? Did you wear a certain dress or something? Find it and try to recall everything you can from that time. While re-living the experience talk about it with your partner, as well as how far you have come since then. Plan tonight your next five years. Think of it this way, your ten or twenty year high school reunion is based on memories of the school. Why not remember the great decision the two of you made five years back? Romantics are everywhere when there is a spark of life or interest, so keep it together and enjoy. Congratulations, I hope you make many more happy years together.

First of all u need to get a babysitter, preferably one u can take the kids to who will keep them overnight. I would book a hotel room go there in the morning and set the room up romantically, candles, wine etc. One of the best presents I ever recieved was a handmade "Love coupons" book. It was full of special coupons I could redeem anytime I wanted to........a massage........day outting of my choice........love making..........a romantic day of my choice........etc. You could make one of those up and rip out the first coupon and put it in his anniversary card which could say......one free hotel fantasy night redeemable tonight. Have something sexy picked out to wear once u are back at the hotel and show him a night of love that he will never forget. People love gifts that are from the heart and have thought put into them rather than a commercial gift from a store. Anyhow hopefully this gave u some ideas. Congrats on your anniversary, I hope your evening turns out wonderful for u.

Oh wow. Congratulations on your anniversary. This might sound sappy but look through your wedding album together or watch your wedding video. I have been married for 7 years and that's what we did. It was so cool to watch and see how much we have changed.

We just had ours and the 'traditional or modern' (can't remember which) gift idea for a 5th anniversary is wood! That was a tough one for us anyhow.......Good luck!
