Plug the phono from your record player into your computer Audio Line-in socket via an adaptor, then use a sound recording program; increase the volume as necessary on the input gain or after the sample is captured (db levels). Cut out bits you don't need at beginning and end then save as aiff or wav. Use a program such as iTunes to convert to MP3.

You can buy a special program that goes on the computer that you attach a record player to and then download all your recoreds. My brother in law has the program it came with the new computer when they got it and he just attahced his record player and now he has his records on his MP3 player.

If you have a look on the PC World website you should find it on there as the computer cam from PC World so they should be selling the program.

Audacity is an easy piece of software to use...go with that one unless anyone has better suggestions
