my comedy group has just moved it's location and i was wondering what was the most effective way of filling seats?

Hey, im somewhat the same except i had to "mute" my face due to some famly issues( i wont go ito detail, other than i knew yelling back woud only make things worse). Now i usually dont react to any insult, and most jokes. The way i Deal with it is to listen to music and actually try to apreciate the lyrics and think about them. Also, i love to draw. Hope this helped. I dont know if you are religous but if you are then praying could help too. If you aren't, then never mind. buena fortuna (good luck)

Advertise. Put funny tidbits fo the show on the radio if possible. Put videos of funny parts in YouTube, as if it were a movie trailer and write the address on the flyers.

I love going to comedy shows, i always book mine through lastminute.com because they do special deals, i.e on their price tickets two for one, or £10.00 off a meal at a restuarant near by. or a deal on their drinks, that's what made me try it in the first place.
And ended up having a fantastic night, so we keep going back whether they have deals or not.
Getting people through the door is one thing but making sure they come back aswell is just as important.

advertise a show in the local newspapers entertainment section. also having a website is good. and if you want a good radio comerical is wonderful.

hand out flyers and post ads for it in local newspapers. you could also ask for the hotels to put something about it in their rooms, to attract a new crowd of tourists instead of just locals.

Do a bargain: 2 tickets by the price of one.(more or less,not a big bargain,so you lose lot of money).
