I want to know if there are any cases of an artist having two different record deals at the same time for two different genres of music. Doesn't matter if they used an alias or not.

Typically you're under contract with one label but can produce more than one genre of music. Back in the 70's, Dolly Parton (we all know her to be a country/western star) recorded what was considered pop albums. Recently Shania Twain and Faith Hill have recorded country songs and then remixed them for pop versions as well. Lonestar is another. You rarely hear of anyone going from pop to country with the exception of Sheryl Crow and Kid Rock.
