The fear of insects is called entomophobia. There is actually, no specific phobia name for just the specific cockroach phobia.

Cockroaches are insects of the Order Blattodea.
Blattodephobia is a made up word using the Order name so it is the same as saying Cockroach Phobia. Check it out on the site.

Unfortunately, I live in Florida and they are everywhere...but my fear is of spiders. Can't deal with things with 8 legs!!!

Yes! I have it! I tell you, they are evil creatures, and they can smell fear like dogs or horses. I lived in a house once where there were cockroaches at night in the summer, lurking in the dark. eeek. Whenever I accidently saw one I totally freaked, started crying, and left the house until someone had killed the thing. Super childish, I know, but they are so nasty and scary. Don;t know of any name for it, but that doesn;t mean it's not a legitimate phobia, unreasonable and silly like the rest of them, but very real to me. yuk.

It is called caca-roacha-philliac! LOL! (Love DEAD cockroaches!) LOL! Actually, I believe it is called USAhumanusroachamuswehatemus. LOL! Or, I have heard it referred to in layman's terms as, "WOMEN HATE BUGS!" Then, there is Roach-boric-acidosis! Cockroachphlieaswatter! Now, I'm just being goofy. I just woke up. What can I say? LOL!

Lynn? Your answer made me laugh and laugh! LOL!
