I keep hearing rumors that they will stongly persue that widely talked about Japanese pitcher. Other rumors say you have Philip Hughs that minor league pheamon. So do they wait for Pavano, resign mussina and keep it how it is or do they shake it up?

The Yankees have a $17M option on Musina. I doubt the Yankees pay that. There is a much smaller buyout. I suspect they buy him out and try to re-sign him for less.

Wright also has a buyout which was triggered by all his time on the DL. I believe it is $3.5M. I expect him to be bought out too.

Pavano has two years left on his deal. No buyouts. The Yankees may try to void the contract, but the Players Union runs MLB. Voiding a contract over an unreported accident? No way the Union lets that happen. The Yankees are stuck with this guy unless they find the bigger idiot to take them. (Fortunately in MLB, there is ALWAYS a bigger idiot, so this might happen if they pay part of the salary.)

I don't know if Hughes is ready for the majors just yet. Expect him to see a lot of attention in Spring Training.

I fully expect the Yankees to sign the Japanese pitcher. All it costs them is money - nobody throws money around like the Yankees.

Barry Zito is a free agent. I expect the Yankees to take a run at him.

I think Mussina is gone and Johnson could be done.

I don't think you see Jaret Wright start either as he is overpaid and the yanks will try to find anyone who will take their hands off of him.

Wang is in the starting rotation and it wouldn't surprise me if Hughs is there as well. Pavano may be released because the yankees are upset that he did not disclose his car accident to them. They will probably seek approval from mlb to release him and not have to pay for breach of contract. The yankees will pick up an arm in the offseason and very well could pick up an arm or two if they deal AROD.

All in all I think you see an almost completely different Yanks rotation next year.

As a small industry baseball fan, it is not that we hate the Yankees that is in simple terms sometimes it gets a splash difficult understanding have been superb here as a schedule filler to entertain the Yankees and that except a team shells out 200 million money it won't in any respect have a huge gamble to compete. sooner or later i could want to work out all of the MBL communities compete using a income cap. some anybody is getting bored with staring at youthful skills enhance just to work out him bought up purchase between the three super money spending communities.

Well Randy is questionable because we have no idea when and if he will come back from his back surgery, Pavano is a question mark so don't count on him...

Here is how i see the starting rotation

1.Wang
2. Matsuzaka(Yes the Yankees will get him they have the most money to afford his asking price and his buyout from japan)
3. Moose
4. A FA, or trade
5.Hughes and Clippard(Rookies)
