Chances are you are using a wireless network. Wireless is the most unstable connection available. But it is fast, so just close your browser, click and reopen it. You will be back on in a heartbeat.

I agree with the answer from Melissa. It probably is because you are on wireless. My daughter uses a laptop and that does the same. Thought it was the battery as toshiba laptops are notorious for this type of thing, spent out almos £70.00p for a new battery only to find out she still had the same problem. Done some investigating over the net and realised i'd bought the battery for nothing.

I'd recommend checking the microfilters if you have a broadband connection. As if one is missing or faulty every time a pulse comes down your line it will kill your connection.
If its over wireless pretty much anything that uses the 2.4Ghz range can mess with it. Cordless telephones, mobiles, microwaves, even some radios can cause interference.

If the computer turns off at any other time, than while you are on the net, blow out the dust from the inside with canned air. If it continues, there could be a issue with the power supply being too small. i.e. not enough watts to run all of your equiptment.
