I wish they wouldn't say things like this- it makes the term "vegetarian" synonymous with "self-righteous preacher", and then people have a go at peaceful veggies like me!
The problem is, they arent trying to push for healthier food for children like Jamie Oliver, who I respect- they are using shock tactics because children's food is such a high profile issue at the moment and they want to use it to promote their animal rights agenda. It's not fair. They should stick to the arguments they can actually win.

This is one whacked out organization. They compare chickens with the holocaust. They are so twisted, that even animal rights advocates try to keep a distance from them. I wonder if they ever thought about what would happen to our planet if we never ate another animal. THere would be millions of cows and chickens and pigs roaming the earth, eating all our vegetation, and then where would they be??? And by their logic, we should also allow rats to take over, they're just little people with vermin and tails. And oh lets not kill the maggots either, I mean who are we to decide that a person is more important than a maggot?? ANd I always wondered, if they think we are just a higher animal, then how come they don't get mad at the bear for killing an innocent fish? They should research getting animals to become vegetarians while they're at it!!

It is very irritating that these people who are trying to "do good" are saying that feeding your children is abuse. I always thought it was much more abusive not to feed them.
Seriously, don't you wonder if these people have too much time on their hands? Worry about the kids who went to be hungry last night, or who are cold, or who have no parents to love them, or who were physically abused last night, or in the last 5 minutes. Protein is necessary to proper growth, and meat is a good source of protein. I wonder if they think it is also abuse to give them milk, cheese, butter and eggs????? Or to let them wear leather shoes???? Wool sweaters???
The list could go on and on. These people really need more education -- animal abuses are wrong, but abuse of a public position is worse, and these statements are just that, abuse of a public position. Worry about important issues, instead of trying to cause a problem where none exists.
Yes, definite poppycock. Most assuredly.

PETA is there to pomote the ethical treatment of Animals not get in the already over crowded do-gooder market.
Human beings are naturally omnivores. It is personal preference when people choose not to eat animals. What gives anyone else the right to force their beliefs on another.
I had a job on my hands getting my daughter to eat meat, not because she didn't like it but because she was too lazy to chew. We are already a lazy and overweight nation, do they want to make things worse. But I digress!!!
If the animal is kept in a happy and healthy environment and slaughtered humanely, where is the issue of Ethics from where PETA takes its name.
Keep fighting the cause for the royal guards bear skin hats, and give us parent freedom to bring our children up in the way we deem best, until they are old enough to make their own choice.
Its called freedom of speech

What a load of rubbish, they need to get their facts right those jumped up do gooders, how many of them were feeding their kids meat last week before they jumped on the PETA bus, one of the companies that brags about their pet food and how damn good its supposed to be for our dog and cats are also allowing animals to suffer through experimentation, when they practise what they preach I will stop eating meat and until then, sod them they no nothing about animals let alone children.

I get fed up with these so called 'groups' who just take things too far, just as this one has. Its down to the parents to decide what a child eats/doesnt eat until the child is of an age where it can make its own educated decisions, until then, do gooders should butt out!

i think peta needs to realise that man was eating meat long before they were around. i think they need to accept the food chain as it is. if we didnt eat meat or veg (some ppl against eating veg as it harms them and is not fair to kill them etc.. etc..) then what the hell do we eat?
its a way of life that has been around for millions of years. are we gonna tell the cat off for killing a mouse? no i dont think so.

This is nothing. I actually had a friend who took all sorts of hassle because he uploaded pictures of his baby girl on his website for his family to see from abroad. It is illegal they said. It is abusive. It could be viewed by paedophiles.
I tell you - we are cultivating a culture of fear. The more terrorised we are the more prone to hatred and misunderstandings.
